Spot Illustrations

I've started to create some spot illustrations that represent certain plots within the book. The three illustrations that I've made show: mole lost in the wild wood, mole and rat having a picnic and showing both characters in a boat. 

I believe that these outcomes are successful because I've experimented with drawing within a certain amount of space. Also, I think that these designs are successful because there is a balance of simple and detailed lines. 

To improve these illustrations even further, I may consider applying colour to see whether the designs look better with or without colour.
