Paige Maddox- Visual Storytelling

I've started to create some spot illustrations that represent certain plots within the book. The three illustrations that I've made show: mole lost in the wild wood, mole and rat having a picnic and showing both characters in a boat.  I believe that these outcomes are successful because I've experimented with drawing within a certain amount of space. Also, I think that these designs are successful because there is a balance of simple and detailed lines.  To improve these illustrations even further, I may consider applying colour to see whether the designs look better with or without colour.   

  After making a few banner designs, I picked the one that I believe that was the most successful and applied colour to it. I think that my banner design is effective because I've used a mixture of simple and detailed lines. Also, I've used the same colour scheme so that it works well with my logo design.  To improve this design even further, I could of tried experimenting with different layouts and how I could change the composition of the text and image. 

After drawing a few logo designs, I've chosen the design that I believe is the most successful. I've extended the design even further by applying colour. I did this by scanning my design and adding colour to it by using Photoshop.  I believe that this design is the most successful because it clearly shows my art style and links to the career that I want to work within, which is illustrating for Children's books.  I also think that this design is the most successful because it would work best when using it on my own website and for making stickers to add onto my products.   

 

 

After producing some logo designs, I started to create some banner designs.  I like these designs because I've applied a range of mark makings and patterns. I think that each design is successful because each illustration shows that I've experimented with image and text and how they are arranged.  To improve my designs, I'm now going to choose one design and apply colour to it by using Photoshop.  

 As I'm going to be selling some of my products online, I've started to think about my online presence and designs that I could use for my own website.  To start off, I've made a few logo designs. For these illustrations, I wanted to experiment with shape, pattern and typography.  I think that all of these designs are successful because they present my art style and personality. The design that I like the best is the circular shape illustration as I think that it could work nicely as a logo, for stickers and for business cards. The I think the shapes for the other two designs may not work as effectively.  For the next stages, I'm going to chose one design and improve it even further by applying colour.
