Illustrations by E.H Shepard
I've continued to research how illustrators have previously portrayed this book by looking at illustrations by E.H Shepard.
I like his illustrations because they've all been created traditionally. I believe that traditional methods have added lighting and detail to both characters and the environments. I think that these illustrations are successful because E.H Shepard has shown how setting the scene and focusing on the environments is just as important as the characters.
Based on the aspects of tone, lighting and line work, I can now begin the think about these elements for my own illustrations. Also, this research is now going to help me to think about focusing on scenery illustrations.
